How to register for the TOEFL

התרגול כאן לא רושם אתכם למבחן. ההרשמה נעשית באתר ETS, הגוף שמפעיל את מבחן TOEFL.

Practising here does not register you for the test. Registration is done on the ETS site, the organisation that runs the TOEFL.

חשוב! השם ותאריך הלידה בחשבון ה-ETS חייבים להיות זהים בדיוק לתעודה שלכם. אם הם שונים, לא יאפשרו לכם להיבחן והתשלום לא יוחזר.

Important! The name and date of birth in your ETS account must match your ID exactly. If they do not, you will not be allowed to test and the fee is not refunded.

  1. פתחו חשבון ב-ETS

    Open an ETS account

    ההרשמה נעשית אונליין, דרך חשבון ה-ETS שלכם. הקלידו את השם באנגלית בדיוק כפי שהוא מודפס בתעודה שתביאו. החשבון אישי ואי אפשר להעביר אותו למישהו אחר.

    Registration is online, through your ETS account. Type your name in English exactly as it is printed on the ID you will bring. The account is personal and cannot be passed to someone else.

  2. בחרו בין מרכז בחינה למבחן מהבית

    Choose a test center or testing at home

    אפשר להיבחן ב-TOEFL iBT במרכז בחינה או מהבית, עם בוחן שצופה בכם דרך המצלמה. מהבית אפשר להיבחן 24 שעות ביממה, ארבעה ימים בשבוע. לפני שבוחרים, בדקו שהמוסדות שאתם נרשמים אליהם מקבלים את המבחן מהבית.

    The TOEFL iBT can be taken at a test center or at home, with a proctor watching through your camera. At home it is offered 24 hours a day, four days a week. Before you choose, check that the institutions you are applying to accept the home test.

    Pick a date

    ההרשמה הרגילה נסגרת שבעה ימים מלאים לפני המבחן. אחרי כן עדיין אפשר להירשם עד יומיים לפני המבחן, בתוספת תשלום. ETS ממליצים להירשם זמן רב מראש, כדי שהציון יגיע לפני המועד האחרון להגשת המועמדות.

    Regular registration closes seven full days before the test. After that you can still register up to two days before, for an extra fee. ETS recommends registering well ahead, so that the score arrives before your application deadline.

  4. בחרו לאן יישלחו הציונים

    Choose where your scores go

    עד ארבעה מוסדות מקבלים את הציון בחינם, אבל רק אם בוחרים אותם לפני המבחן. אפשר לשנות את הרשימה עד 22:00 ביום שלפני המבחן. אחרי כן כל דוח ציונים עולה כסף.

    Up to four institutions get your score for free, but only if you choose them before the test. You can change the list until 10 p.m. on the day before the test. After that every report costs money.

  5. שלמו את דמי ההרשמה

    Pay the fee

    המחיר תלוי במדינה שבה נבחנים, ולכן בחרו Israel בעמוד המחירים של ETS כדי לראות את המחיר העדכני. אפשר לשלם בכרטיס אשראי או ב-PayPal.

    The fee depends on the country you test in, so choose Israel on the ETS fee page to see the current price. You can pay by credit card or PayPal.

  6. נבחנים מהבית? בדקו את הציוד

    Testing at home? Check your equipment

    צריך מחשב נייח או נייד (לא טאבלט) עם מסך אחד, מצלמה שאפשר להזיז כדי להראות את החדר, רמקול ומיקרופון. אוזניות אסורות. לטיוטה מותר לוח מחיק קטן אחד עם טוש מחיק. הריצו מראש את בדיקת הציוד באפליקציית TOEFL Test App. אם ביום המבחן הציוד או החדר לא עומדים בכללים, התשלום לא מוחזר.

    You need a desktop or laptop (not a tablet) with one screen, a camera you can move to show the room, a speaker and a microphone. Headphones and headsets are not allowed. For notes you may use one small whiteboard with an erasable marker. Run the equipment check in the TOEFL Test App ahead of time. If the equipment or the room does not meet the rules on test day, the fee is not refunded.

Which ID to bring

אזרחים ישראלים שנבחנים בישראל יכולים להביא דרכון, תעודת זהות או רישיון נהיגה, בתנאי שמופיעים בהם השם, תמונה וחתימה. התעודה צריכה להיות מקורית ובתוקף. מי שאינו אזרח ישראלי צריך דרכון. דרכון הוא הבחירה הבטוחה ביותר: לפי ETS, מרכז בחינה לא יכול להכניס אתכם עם תעודה שאי אפשר לקרוא באותיות אנגליות.

Israeli citizens testing in Israel can bring a passport, an identity card or a driver’s licence, as long as it shows your name, photo and signature. It must be the original and still valid. Anyone who is not an Israeli citizen needs a passport. A passport is the safest choice: ETS says a center cannot admit you with an ID it cannot read in English letters.

צריכים לשנות או לבטל?

Need to change or cancel?

עד ארבעה ימים מלאים לפני המבחן אפשר להזיז אותו בתשלום, או לבטל ולקבל בחזרה חצי מהתשלום. למבחן ביום שבת, זה אומר עד יום שלישי. אחרי כן מפסידים את כל התשלום.

Up to four full days before the test you can move it for a fee, or cancel and get half the fee back. For a Saturday test that means by Tuesday. After that you lose the whole fee.

Taking it again

אין הגבלה על מספר הפעמים, אבל אי אפשר להיבחן יותר מפעם אחת בתוך שלושה ימים.

There is no limit on the number of attempts, but you cannot take the test more than once in three days.

How long it takes, and when scores arrive

קחו בחשבון כשעתיים, בלי הפסקות קבועות. הציונים מופיעים בחשבון ה-ETS שלכם שלושה ימים אחרי המבחן, ותקפים לשנתיים.

Allow about two hours, with no scheduled breaks. Scores appear in your ETS account three days after the test and are valid for two years.
